Heartworm in dogs . Dirofilaria Immitis.
Dilophilariosis can be a serious disease in adult dogs. In them, an obstruction of the pulmonary arteries and veins can be observed, there is also an irritation in the arterial wall due to the mechanical action of the worms that can cause local edemas with the consequent formation of thrombi. Both thrombi and dead worms flow into the lungs clogging blood vessels and creating acute inflammations.
